So I picked up some dumpling wrappers, without the slightest what I might do with them. Tonight, as I was seriously struggling with my HSK reading comprehension practice, I decided to take a break and whip up something fun. I wanted scrambled eggs, and when I opened the fridge and saw those dumpling wrappers, I knew just what to do…
Ingredients
Pre-made dumpling wrappers
1 egg (this will make about 8 rolls)
Salt
Pepper
Oil (olive or other)
Make It Happen
Scramble that egg, salt and pepper to taste
Fill dumpling wrapper with a little of the scrambled egg and roll, wrap, or fold to your heart’s desire
(you can totally go for the Din Tai Fung exacted 18, but I wasn’t feeling so ambitious)
Cover dumplings in a little olive oil, return to pan
Fry evenly on all sides
Plate and enjoy!
They are crispy and delicious and perfect for a late night snack alone or an app to share at a party or brunch. Was thinking of a lot of dipping sauces that might pair nicely…but I’ll have to update on that a bit later!
(And, hey…if Tom Cruise can do it, you can do it too!)
